TRIPLE-S MANAGEMENT ADDS TWO KEY POSITIONS TO SUPPORT ITS TRANSFORMATION

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO – Thurman Justice, Triple-S Management’s president and chief executive officer, announced today the appointments of Edward Zayas as chief communications officer and Robert Ruocco as chief information technology officer.

"We are delighted to announce that we are strengthening the Triple-S executive team with the addition of two highly experienced and recognized individuals in their respective fields, Edward Zayas and Robert Ruocco. They will play key roles in driving Triple-S' continued transformation to support the diverse needs of our policyholders," said Justice.

Edward Zayas joins Triple-S as chief communications officer after working in journalism and public relations for almost 40 years. As part of his professional roles, he has served as chief strategy and communications officer, director, editor, reporter, and journalism professor, among others, in both the public and private sectors and in the media. Edward joins Triple-S after serving as chief strategy officer for Discover Puerto Rico, the destination marketing organization for Puerto Rico. He also served as spokesperson for the Financial Oversight and Management Board for Puerto Rico. He holds a master's degree in education and a bachelor's degree in journalism with a minor in public relations from the University of Puerto Rico.

Robert Ruocco joins the team as chief information officer and has over 20 years of experience.  Before coming to Triple-S, he served as chief information technology and security officer at Consortium Health Plan in Maryland. In addition, he served as vice president and chief information officer at Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield in New York. He also worked at Healthfirst in New York as chief operating officer and vice president of information technology.

Robert holds an MBA with a major in strategic management from Niagara University, a master's degree in management information science from Stevens Institute of Technology, and a bachelor's degree in computer science from William Paterson University. He currently serves as a member of the board of directors of the American Automobile Association in the Western and Central New York region.
