By: Karen Thompson, Enterprise Communications The July 4 holiday weekend will probably be different this year for many people. Many fireworks displays and other festive gatherings have been canceled due to a resurgence of COVID-19. Recent data shows a sharp increase in the numbers of positive COVID-19 cases in several areas of the country—including Florida, where the largest numbers of GuideWell team members reside. This surge has led some cities in Florida and other states where we do business to reverse some of the previous reopening actions and mandate face masks.
GuideWell Mutual Holding Corporation (GuideWell), the parent to a family of forward-thinking companies focused on transforming health care; Florida Blue, the state’s leading health insurer; and Florida Blue Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Florida Blue, today announced $25 million in investments over five years to organizations focused on diversity and inclusion and health equity in the communities the organizations serve.
A Letter from President and CEO Pat Geraghty: "All of us have a duty to speak up and stand against injustice."
Dear GuideWell employees:Last Monday, we observed Memorial Day, the holiday when Americans honor the men and women who have died defending our country’s ideals serving in the U.S. military. And last Monday, George Floyd’s tragic, shocking death reminded us all that our country has a long way to go before its central promise of equality becomes reality. Last week and all weekend, the country reeled in pain and protest at George Floyd’s death, and with anger and frustration at the racism and inequality people of color still experience in America every day.
COVID-19 has the potential to change many things for the health care industry and for the way we operate.
As a mission-driven, health solutions enterprise, we feel a strong responsibility to our members and our communities, especially now.
Another week has come and gone in our temporary new normal. As a health solutions enterprise committed to helping people and communities achieve better health, we remain focused on ensuring that our employees, members, and communities feel supported as theynavigate this pandemic.

You have applied for a job that looks oh so, perfect and you are asked to do a video interview. You may think the idea of a video interview is unusual, but it is becoming more and more popular for both companies and candidates. Why? Video interviews allow candidates to showcase their skill sets and personality, when and where it’s most comfortable for them. Don’t want to take time off from your current job? Video interviews can be completed in the evenings, early mornings or on the weekends.
If you've searched for jobs on a company's website recently, you may have noticed a button saying, "Join our Talent Network" or “Join our Talent Community.” Talent communities are becoming a common practice among employers who want to stay in touch with interested job seekers.
GuideWell and its family of forward-thinking companies are focused on helping people and communities achieve better health. To do that, it takes the right team of people who are committed to our mission and passionate about what we do. That’s why we’re investing in our future workforce with the launch of a new careers-focused website that provides candidates with an improved and comprehensive job search experience.
There are few things (if any) more important than your health. Therefore, the health care industry—and those who lead it—are a big influence in our lives.
